A brief history of Brian
Brian Falkner Schicker Oehlsen was born and raised in New York where he attended Siena College, majoring in English Literature and minoring in Philosophy and Pre-Law. Having had enough of the harsh winters of his homeland, he made the journey west to Washington for law school. Brian had fallen in love with the Pacific Northwest while visiting his grandparents on the Olympic Peninsula throughout his youth.
Brian attended the University of Washington School of Law where he received his J.D. and an L.L.M. in Tax Law. During law school, Brian clerked for the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office, but he was drawn to the rather cut-and-dry nature of tax law and directed his studies accordingly. He volunteered with the University of Washington’s Federal Tax Clinic and worked for a local CPA to gain a greater understanding of tax issues.
Outside of the office, Brian can be found spending time with his corgi, Fargo, out in the wilderness taking photos, or at a table, surrounded by an adventuring party, rolling checks and saving throws. His instrument of choice is a guitar.
